Latte at The Connaught

We ended up at a meeting at The Connaught yesterday and decided to sit in the main Afternoon Tea area. I have to admit, I haven’t seen a place this elegant, relaxing and mesmerising in a long time. The service is impeccable and the staff is very cordial.

I decided to have a latte – surprisingly for a hotel it was very velvety, smooth and the right amount of espresso which allowed me to enjoy it without having to add sugar. The presentation was great, served with bite sized shortbreads and chocolate cookies, it’s a great place for meetings and for relaxing when you feel you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of London. The view facing Mount Street and the fountain is breathtaking, making you feel as a part of a Hollywood movie!

I would highly recommend if you are looking for a formal place for a meeting or if you just feel like going somewhere fancy for a drink!

L’Eto Caffe in Shepherd Market!

So I have been to L’Eto a couple of times but usually to the ones in Soho or South Kensington. This was my first visit to the one in Mayfair and I have to say their choice of location is ideal. I have often thought of escaping and hiding away in some cafe and getting on with my work, and this is that hidden gem.

The cakes display gives it a feel of a grandmother’s house but don’t get me wrong, I mean to say a very chic grandmother’s kitchen.

You walk in to a cosy seating area on your left hand side and a great modern wooden ceiling with gold painted walls surrounding you.

The team is absolutely lovely and Manager, Mark has been with the company from the beginning and highly knowledgeable about the coffee.

The coffee was presented beautifully, with caramel printed latte art and a layer of froth followed by a layer of espresso and another layer of milk. The tinge of ginger in the latte was just about right followed by the flavour of honey, milk and not an overpowering espresso. I have never had this combination before and will definitely recommend it to those who are bored of regular lattes. My latte was accompanied by a delicious Almond Crossaint. I cannot recall having had one as rich and crispy before – another high recommendation. Croissants are my 2nd weakness so if you fall in to the same category you must try them out!

My friend thoroughly enjoyed her Flat White which looked equally tempting so I will be going back for that!
