The Williamsburg Hotel

Possibly the best hotel when it comes to in-house baked goodies and coolest branded products in the room including bathrobes and amenities. The Williamsburg Hotel is the latest addition to the Williamsburg neighborhood and during my short stint there in January I had the opportunity to stay here. The Brooklyn Bread Lab, the in-house bakery of the hotel serves the best pain au chocolat in Brooklyn if not the whole of New York paired with Coffee of Grace (which I will be covering in a separate blog post) and that is your morning sorted. I must mention that the team working at Harvey (in-house restaurant) was super helpful in guiding me in the early hours through the neighborhood and what they recommended I could do with my time in the area whilst I enjoyed breakfast here!

My room was super cosy and had wonderful views of Manhattan’s skyline. The hotel has invested time and thought in to their products, mini-bar and branding which is neither too neutral nor too feminine but has a warm, bright and boutique feel for a modern hotel. All rooms are individually designed. I loved the artsy lighting and mix of leather and metallics. If it wasn’t -13 degrees in January the terrace would have been perfect for me to enjoy the sunrise and evening views from.

The hotel is only a 7 minute walk from the subway which makes it easily accessible to Manhattan. At the same time my reason for choosing Williamsburg and the hotel was to experience what the neighborhood had to offer. The hotel is very close to Toby’s Estate Coffee and Roastery, a place I visited every morning for the coffee and experience. This is where Toby’s Estate first ever started. Additionally, there are many new places popping up in the neighborhood which are local and interesting such as Egg Shop and Heatonist, a shop that specifically specialises in hot sauces! Williamsburg is the equivalent to Shoreditch and Clerkenwell in London and hotels like The Williamsburg Hotel will make the experience as hip as possible. What I also admired about Harvey (the hotel’s in-house restaurant), Brooklyn Bread Lab and the hotel’s mini bar is the ambition to promote local produce and brands.

I spent the Sunday morning before checking out trying out an unique afternoon tea at the hotel and enjoying some live music in the restaurant and bar area. The perfect way to have ended my stay in the neighborhood.

I do hope you will get to visit soon!
